B. Important information

The Milk Maker should be calibrated before first use and the concentration ratio adjusted to the type of milk powder used. The weight of 1 scoop is shown on the milk powder packaging.

To calibrate the Milk Maker, you need a scale and a cup or glass. Make sure to fill the watertank and the milk powder container and make sure the lid of the milk powder container is tightly closed. The Milk Maker only needs to be calibrated once. Only when changing to a different type of milk powder should the Milk Maker be recalibrated or when the Milk Maker was moved or transported. Caution! Never move the Milk Maker when it is switched on.

Concentration ratio

The factory setting of the Milk Maker is set to a concentration ratio of 30 ml of water with 4.5 grams of milk powder. Increase or decrease the concentration ratio: press the MENU button twice. The display shows C2 45 (this indicates the concentration of 4.5 grams of milk powder to 30 ml of water). Increase or decrease the concentration with the +/- buttons. For example, if a scoop of your milk powder is 4.8 grams to 30 ml of water, press the + button to 48. Turn the Milk Maker off and turn on again to save the settings.

You can usually find how many grams a scoop of milk powder weighs at the ingredient list on your milk powder package. If not, you can weigh your scoops. Our advice is to put a container on a kitchen scale, set it to 0 and then put 10 scoops in the container. Fill in the number on the scale at C2.

Milk powder calibration

Do not place the bottle yet and remove the mixing funnel. Press and hold the START button to display C3. At C3, there is a number displayed on the right. You can ignore this number. This number should be adjusted in a moment to the weight of milk powder the Milk Maker will give during calibration.

Now hold a glass as high as possible in the Milk Maker and press START to collect the first milk powder. This amount is a test amount and may be discarded or thrown back into the powder container. Then place an empty glass on the scale, set it to grams (if necessary) and to 0. Place the glass in the Milk Maker and press START to collect and weigh a second amount of milk powder. Write this number down if necessary so you don’t forget.

Empty the glass and place it on the scale again and set it to 0. Place the glass back in the Milk Maker, press START to collect and weigh a third amount of milk powder. The second and third weights should match. A slight deviation of 1 gram is acceptable.

Adjust the number, to the right of C3, to the weight of the milk powder you weighed. For example, if the second and third weights are both 16 grams, use the +/- buttons to adjust the number to 16. If the weight differs by 1 gram, you can enter the weight of the third weighing. Turn the Milk Maker off and turn on again to save the settings.

Water calibration

The water is calibrated in the same way as the milk powder. This is possible because water is the only liquid where 1 gram equals 1 ml. Do not insert the bottle yet and remove the mixing funnel. Press and hold the START button to display C3. Press the MENU button until C1 appears. C1 has a number displayed on the right. You can ignore this number. This number should be adjusted in a moment to the weight of water the Milk Maker will give during calibration.

Place the mixing funnel back into the Milk Maker, place the empty glass and press START to collect the first water. This amount is a test amount which you may discard. Place the empty glass on the scale, set it to grams (if necessary) and 0. Place the glass in the Milk Maker and press START to collect and weigh a second amount of water. Write this number down if necessary so you don’t forget.

Empty the glass and place it on the scale again and set it to 0. Place the glass back in the Milk Maker, press START to collect and weigh a third amount of water. The second and third weights should match. A small deviation of 1 gram is acceptable.

Adjust the number, to the right of C1, to the weight of the water you weighed. For example, if the second and third weights are both 98 grams, adjust the number to 98 using the -/+ buttons. If the weight differs by 1 gram, you can enter the weight of the third weighing. Switch the Milk Maker off and turn on again to save the settings.

The Milk Maker is calibrated and ready to prepare a bottle of milk. You can now prepare a bottle of milk in Milk Mode by pressing the START button after having set the desired temperature and watervolume. You can use the dosage chart on the packaging of the powdered milk to verify the amount of milk in milliliters.
